Being sold due to the failing health of one of the owners.
Deep Blue Resort is located on 279 + feet of private ocean front just a few strokes from the vibrant coral reef at Pretty Bush on Utila's stunning South Shore which is a 5 minute boat ride from town via the protected lagoon.
The location is away from the noise and bustle of town and the resort grounds offer a feel of seclusion and peacefulness.
The resort is currently set up to accommodate 20 guests at a time with ten spacious deluxe rooms. Each room has air conditioning and a large private balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea. There are three ocean front buildings which house the guest accommodations, the lounge, the dining area, the club house and a full service bar.
There are plenty of social areas for guests to gather and discuss the reef, fish and whale sharks they saw on their dives as well as secluded and serene spaces for enjoying the tropical foliage, coconut trees, orchids, endemic iguanas, humming birds and other flowering plants typical to the Caribbean.
There are two comfortable owners apartments each with their own private bathroom.
There are buildings located in back of the property where the laundry facilities, water cistern and the generator are housed and there is plenty of room to expand and build on the property.
Deep Blue Resort has been welcoming guests and taking them scuba diving for 14+ years and is associated with the Whale Shark Research Project which the local staff of the resort manage. The project is assisted by some of the world’s best known whale shark researchers and data is collected from visiting divers, snorkelers, and from local fishermen. Each year, Deep Blue Resort hosts special Whale Shark Research weeks where they invite their guests to participate in special projects and benefit from the talks and experiences of Whale Shark Researchers at the resort during this time.
The Dive boat and the supply skiff are docked in the sheltered Oyster Bed Lagoon located just behind the resort. The dive equipment building is also situated there and this property is included with the sale.
The lagoon provides all weather access to town, a boat slip for the skiff and a safe docking space for the Dive Boat the ‘Walnut’.
There is plenty of land and potential to expand on this property and build to accommodate more guests or cater to larger groups and researchers.
Current owners are willing to train new owners for a transition period.
